My friend Mahmud sent me this 'letter from an Iranian scientist' from the legendary Isfahan, recently bombed by US-Israel.

The Zionist regime calls it a “preemptive” airstrike, pretending that Iran is going to make nuclear weapons in a matter of days or months. This has been Netanyahu’s baseless claim for years and years, where there are no single evidence according to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) statements. Iran, a peaceful country with zero trail of invasion or colonization over its millennial history, responded strongly to the shamelessly brutal attack over its citizens by targeting military sites and facilities in occupied territories. A fact that was inverted by the Israeli regime’s official narratives, as if the world has forgotten who is expert in finding excuses to kill innocent civilians.

The regime kept bombing our cities alongside our nuclear sites that are watched by IAEA and proven to comply with regulations. The last card, i.e., bombing Fordow’s site, was played by Trump who, by any definition, is an insult to the US nation. Both Iran and the US are members of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT). The idea of this association was that countries with nuclear weapons gradually stop their production and those without, are committed to not develop any weapons of mass destruction. Now the irony is that An NPT member with nuclear bomb, has bombed the peaceful nuclear facilities of another member just because “he” thinks Iran is close to having it! According to open documents, the US continues modernizing its weapons (in competition with China and Russia) while Iran has never violated any rules of NPT and have been open to all IAEA visits:

During 12 days, our nation witnessed the assassination of its top scientists and generals, the murder of its citizen and the destruction of houses, hospitals, and scientific centers. That was all under the eyes of the silent world, whose news reporters only count the victims. Can you imagine how hard it is to see damaged the realization of years of scientific efforts, under sanctions and isolation? To see destructed the achievements of many young students, who made breakthroughs and marked major milestones in the growth path of their land? Will you blame this generation if they think the world is only a jungle and rules by any international treaty or organization are only to serve those in power?

Despite having all reasons to be disappointed with casualties, I have to admit that we are blessed with our young generation. Drawing on their history and glorious civilization, they know how to extend their roots in the land and grow their branches towards light. And if that's too hard for some of our youth, we, as professors, are more committed to be their role model of hope and strength, and to flame their passion and enthusiasm to build the future. We train them to be true scientists, making a new image for the world where there is no supremacy and the science is shared among nations for good. We teach our students life and freedom, as the science is free of boarders and is supposed to serve everybody a better life.

In this journey, we count on you and your bright mind to see behind the mainstream and to be our voice.
